Grateful Konahene Joins Asantehene For 2nd Akwasidae

The chief of Kona in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Konadu Kumanin IV, joined the Manhyia Palace’s Akwasidae festival celebration on Sunday.
The traditional leader who is 11 years on the stool was full of appreciation when he stood before the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Announcing his anniversary to the King through the Monarch’s linguist, he expressed his gratitude to the King for approving his enstoolment over a decade ago.
“Konahene is where he is because of our lord (Otumfuo). It’s been 11 years since he ascended the Kumanin stool. He couldn’t stay behind at Kona as his lord is celebrating Akwasidae,” Nana Adumasahene spoke on his behalf.
He was accompanied by his Queen, elders and siblings.
Second Akwasidae
Traditional authorities, royals, government officials, associations, subjects and foreigners converged at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on March 2, 2025, to celebrate the second Akwasidae Festival of the year.
It was the best occasion to pay homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, while others preyed on the chance to make donations in support of the Heal Kath project.
Among them were Barima Freduah Agyemang, Kenyasehene, Ghana Agri-Input Dealers Association, Dr George Oduro of the General Surgery and Emergency Medicine at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Anglican Credit Union, Anigyie Keep Fit Club, Community of Toureg Tamashaq- Ashanti Region and Melanin Tours.
