Graham Potter Leaves Chelsea
Head coach Graham Potter has left Chelsea Football Club, the Club has reported.
His departure comes seven months after taking over the club in September 2022 replacing Thomas Tuchel.
Potter signed a five-year deal with Chelsea but ended it following the Club’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Under his leadership, Potter reportedly won just 12 of his 31 games to clutch the 11th position on the Premier League table.
This is despite the signings of eight new players, including Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke and Malo Gusto, in the middle of this season.
In a statement announcing Potter’s departure on April 2, Chelsea said the former coach will “collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition”.
“In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter-final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid.”
It, therefore, thanked Potter for his contribution to the Club.
In the interim, Bruno Saltor will take charge of the team as Head Coach, the Club noted.
