Gov’t Spokesperson: Our Security Couldn’t Spot Aisha Huang Due To Semblance In Asians

The government’s spokesperson on Security and Governance, Palgrave Boakye Danquah has held that the security officials at the country’s entry point failed to identify Aisha Huang due to semblance in Asians.

Speaking in an interview on Eyewitness News monitored by opemsuo.com, Palgrave admitted that she entered the country through an official route which had an immigration checkpoint with fake documents.

He, however, refused to mention the exact point through which she came.

“She entered with illegal documents, a forged document which does not even represent her name…She entered through the official borders with fake documents”, he said.

He added, “We are aware that when she entered the country, our security services followed to be sure that she was the right person and you are aware how a lot of Asians look alike. It took us a bit of time to be able to be sure that she was the same person that we deported in 2017.”

He allayed fears that the country’s border security is porous.

“Fight against terrorism has been beefed up. I have just returned from the Upper East region and tours in the various border towns and I’ve seen very clearly how our Immigration, Police and Military personnel have root up high-level security.”

For unapproved routes into the country, he said, the services of drones are being used for monitoring.
