Govt Moves to Complete Akyem Oda Sport Stadium

The government has taken a step towards the completion of the Akyem Oda Sport Stadium, a project envisioned to rake in significant social and economic benefits in the Eastern Region.
As part of this, the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Kofi Adams convened a meeting with the Paramount Chief of Akyem Kotoku, Dr Frimpong Manso IV, and representatives from Zi Jin Golden Ridge Ltd.
Kofi Adams emphasised the transformative potential of the stadium, stating that the project would create jobs and unlock potential economic opportunities for the community.
“Sport is a powerful tool for development, it’s a platform to nurture our youth, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster unity among our people.”
The traditional leader, in his remarks, expressed his support for the project, highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability, cultural respect, and inclusivity.
“Our community’s welfare and heritage must be at the heart of this development. This stadium is more than just a sports facility; it’s a symbol of progress and unity,” he said.
He also welcomed Zi Jin Golden Ridge Ltd as a key stakeholder, stressing the company’s potential to contribute positively beyond its mining operations.
Jason Zhang, Vice President of Zi Jin Golden Ridge Ltd, conveyed his enthusiasm for supporting community development.
“We are committed to making a meaningful impact in Akyem Oda. We look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure this project benefits the entire community and leaves a lasting legacy,” he stated.
