Govt Lifts Curfew on Nalerigu

The government has lifted curfew on Nalerigu Township and its environs in the North East Region.

This measure takes immediate effect, the Ministry of Interior announced in a statement issued on February 16, 2026.

The Ministry said the decision had become necessary following peace and security in the area.

Meanwhile, the government urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them.

It proposed the use of non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
