Govt Lifts Curfew on Binduri

The Interior Ministry has announced the revocation of a curfew on Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region.
In a statement issued on February 6, 2026, it said the lifting takes effect immediately.
It cited the prevailing peace and security in the area for the decision.
“The Minister for the Interior, on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, has lifted the Curfew in Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region with immediate effect.”
The government further urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them.
It also encouraged the use of non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
