Golden Kick FC Charged by GFA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Division One side Golden Kick FC with respect to the MTN FA Cup final against Asante Kotoko SC on Sunday.

This springs from sentiments poured out over a stoppage-time penalty in favour of the Premier League side which saw them lifting the trophy at the University of Ghana Stadium.

In a notice, the FA Disciplinary Committee said Golden Kick had been charged with breaching the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 and the Division One League Regulations, 2019.

“It is alleged that supporters of Golden Kick FC threw objects onto the field of play during the said match.

“Further, the club is alleged to have made social media commentary on the match officials, which brings the competition into disrepute.”

The team has until Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to respond to the charges.

Kotoko clinched its 10th MTN FA Cup title, edging Golden Kick SC in a thrilling 2-1 finale.
