Goal Scorers Have Declined Globally- Former Nigerian Coach

According to former Nigerian coach Paul Aigbogun, the general number of goal scorers has become a significant global concern.

In an interview with Brila.net, he said the problem was not particular to Africa but the entire globe.

The gaffer observes that goal scorers have over the years declined significantly in Africa and around the world.

“Not only Nigerian players but if you look at Africa or around the world, there is actually a lack of goal scorers compared to many years before.”

From his experience, the problem stems from the development stage and cannot be improved when past that stage.

“If we look at Nigeria in particular, it is down to football development at a young age. When you don’t learn it as a young player, it becomes harder at an older age.”
