GHC8 Billion District Assemblies Common Fund Allocation Formula Approved

Parliament has approved the 2026 Formula for the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), allocating GHC 8,769, 707,900 for the fiscal year.

The allocation, enacted under the 2026 Appropriation Act, marks a 16.78% increase from the previous year’s GHC7,510,000,000.

The approval took place on March 17, 2026, after the formula was presented to Parliament by the Fund Administrator, Mr Michael Harry Yamson, with the aim to provide equitable resources across Ghana’s 261 Local Government Authorities (LGAs).

This complies with Article 252 of the 1992 Constitution, which states that at least 5% of total revenue be allocated to the DACF.
