Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK Assumes Permanent Office as Permanent Rep on IMO

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), HE Mrs Sabah Zita Benson, has assumed office as the West African Nation’s permanent representative on the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
This follows the presentation of her credentials to the Secretary General of the IMO, Mr Arsenio Antonio Domínguez Velasco, on November 17, 2025, at the IMO Headquarters in London.
Assuming office as Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organisation, H.E. Zita Benson, expressed the government’s commitment to maritime security, building the capacity of maritime institutions, promoting decarbonisation, and the safety of seafarers.
Secretary General Velasco, on his part, assured of the IMO’s commitment to strengthening the collaboration with member countries to ensure that the sector yields the desired benefits for economic development.
