Ghanaians Discouraged Against Trips to Northern Mali
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has issued a travel advisory against trips to the Northern part of military-ruled Mali.
Pointing to the Gao and Ansongo Regions of Northern Mali, the Ministry said the areas are battered with terrorist attacks and thereby unsafe for travels.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration cognisant of the recent security development along the major highways linking Mali and Niger, particularly the Gao and Ansongo Regions of Northern Mali wishes to advice the travelling public to avoid travel along that route as there has been reports of terrorists harassment of commuters who ply the routes.”
The ministry urged Ghanaians to always prioritise their safety when travelling.
It added, that updates will be provided on the jusridiction in due course.
“The Ministry remains committed to the safety of Ghanaians and will provide updates on the security situation in the region under reference in due course.”
