Ghanaian Embassy in Qatar Facilitating Evacuation to Saudi Arabia For Flight

The Ghanaian Embassy in Qatar says it is exploring the possibility of facilitating entry visas or visas on arrival for nationals willing and ready to travel to Saudi Arabia to secure a flight.

This has become necessary as the airspace of Qatar remains indefinitely closed with flights operations suspended due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement, it said land crossing into Saudi Arabia is open and being used through commercial transport services.

“Those willing to ply the road to Saudi Arabia are advised to review the options carefully and what is appropriate for your own circumstance, including any necessary visas and travel documents.”

It furthered, “Ghanaians holding a valid US, UK or Schengen Visas who have travelled at least once to any of the aforementioned countries qualify for a visa on arrival in Saudi Arabia.

“In light of the above, interested Ghanaians stranded in Doha, Qatar or willing to return home until the security situation in country improves are requested to access the link below and fill the forms to enable the Embassy ascertain the number of Ghanaians willing, ready and able to leave the country by road to Saudi Arabia and to facilitate the necessary visa arrangements.Those registered should kindly submit their passport biodata pages via doha@mfa.gov.gh”

Meanwhile, it directed all Ghanaian residents and visitors in Qatar who intend to stay behind to stay indoors or find the nearest safe building or designated shelter and avoid going out except in cases of extreme necessity in accordance with the host nation’s guidelines.

“It is noted that the Ministry of Interior of Qatar has announced the extension of all categories of entry visas that have expired or are about to expire for a period of one-month, subject to further extension in line with development, effective from 28th February 2026.”
