Ghana Views Singapore as Role Model- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has described Singapore as a role model to Ghana as the West African country gropes for economic prosperity.

During a visit to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as a part of his three-day state visit, H.E. Mahama highlighted the age-old ties that have existed between the two countries.

“We have had historical ties from the period of our first President, and we view Singapore as a role model in our journey to create prosperity for our people.”

He also expressed appreciation for the invitation to visit, affirming that it will reinforce the shared values.

For his part, President Shanmugaratnam said Ghana is recognised as a key player in West Africa and Africa at large.

He further assured the country of Singapore’s assistance towards full economic recovery.

“I know you inherited very difficult challenges, but you are off to a very strong start in repairing the situation, and we in Singapore, in whatever way we can through our government agencies and companies, will do what is useful to support you.”
