Ghana To Clash Against Congo In African Games Opener
The Black Satellites are expected to hold their African Games opener at the Accra Sports Stadium against DR Congo.
The hosts are paired in Group A alongside Benin, The Gambia and Congo.
The fixtures released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) show the Satellites’ opening match will take place on March 9 at 8 pm. It will be preceded by Nigeria’s clash against Uganda in Group B at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on March 8 and that of South Sudan and Senegal.
Coach Desmond Ofei’s side will take their second group match three days later against Gambia before their last on March 16 against Benin.
Meanwhile, the Black Princesses of Ghana will take their first game in the women’s category of the Africa Games in Cape Coast- where all fixtures in the women’s category will take place- on March 9 against Ethiopia.
They are paired in Group A alongside Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.
On March 12, the Princesses will lock horns with Tanzania before their final match against Uganda.
