Ghana Navy Confiscates 8 Boats Allegedly Used for Illegal Fuel Bunkering

Personnel of the Ghana Navy have busted eight unregistered boats suspected of being involved in illegal fuel bunkering at Poase and New Takoradi Beach.
This was during an operation code-named “Operation Don’t Complain,” aimed at enforcing maritime regulations and curbing illicit activities along the coast on March 31, 2026.
The exercise carried out in accordance with Sections 53 and 54 of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act, Act 1146, led to seizure and conveyance of the boats to the Base.
Representatives of the Ghana Maritime Authority, Maritime Police Unit, National Petroleum Authority, and Fisheries Commission have inspected the confiscated boats.
Meanwhile, the relevant stakeholders have also been briefed on the circumstances surrounding the operation and the legal framework underpinning the action taken by the Command.
