Ghana Mourns: Boy Sponsored By Omane Boamah For Prosthetic Surgery Spotted At His Funeral

A nine-year-old boy sponsored by the late Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, for a medical procedure has been spotted at the ongoing state funeral for the benefactor and others who died in a helicopter crash.
The guardian of Setor, who brought his condition to public attention, released pictures of their presence at the Black Star Square.
“We came with his plastic chair to represent the means in which the boy used to walk and how he also came in to intercede,” the guardian wrote in a Facebook post.
Though protocols didn’t allow them in, he is certain that Dr Omane Boamah will be at peace seeing the current state of the boy he helped.
He furthered, “Setor has been very sad since we came, but I am happy the little boy was able to pay his last respects.”
Dr. Omane Boamah offered to cover the cost of surgery for the boy to receive a prosthetic, after he was seen using a plastic chair to aid his movement.
The late Minister died a day after the successful surgery and never had the opportunity to meet the boy.
