Ghana Deports 3 Israelis in Retaliation for Mistreatment of Its Citizens

Ghana has deported three Israeli nationals back to their country in retaliation for the ill treatment of Ghanaian travellers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the they were ‘compelled’ to retaliate by deporting three (3) Israelis who arrived in Ghana earlier today.

In response to the ill treatment of Ghanaians, the Charge d’Affaires and Interim of the Embassy of the State of Israel was promptly summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considering that the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana is currently out of the jurisdiction.

At the meeting, both Governments agreed to resolve the matter amicably, it reported.

Meanwhile, it noted that the Government of Ghana will continue to safeguard the dignity of its nationals.

It added that it deeply values its relations with all friendly countries and expects its citizens to be treated with dignity and respect in the same way other governments expect Ghana to treat their nationals.

December 7 Issue
It recounted how on December 7, 2025, seven Ghanaian travellers to Israel were detained at the Ben Gurion International Airport without justifiable cause.

“The detained included four (4) members of a Parliamentary delegation taking part in the ongoing Annual International Cybersecurity Conference in Tel Aviv.”

It reported that they were only released after more than five hours of strenuous diplomatic intervention.

Meanwhile, the remaining three were deported on the next available flight and have since arrived in Ghana.
