Ghana Call 35 Players For U20 Women’s World Cup

Head Coach of the Black Princesses, Yussif Basigi has handed call-ups to 35 players ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The squad include Afi Amenyaku, Debra Brown, Amina Ahamadu, Huzeeiman Osman, Afishatu Issah, Najaat Salam as goalkeepers; and Comfort Yeboah, Fatimata Fuseini, Opoku Anoma Abena, Afishatu Mohammed, Sarah Kulible, Afia Twumwaa, Abiba Issa, Hannah Nyame, Comfort Owusu and Faiza Abdul Rashid as DeDefende

He has Stella Nyame, Wassima Mohammed, Tracey Twum, Berlin Nyarkoh, Asana Alhassan, Success Amenyaa, Sarah Nyarko, Jaqueline Amponsah, Deborah Annoh and Jennifer Owusuaa for the midfield while Princess Owusu, Salamatu Abduai, Rita Moussa, Asantewaa Angela, Mary Amponsah, Agnes Yeboah, Mercy Attobrah, Jennifer Dawah and Abigail Sakyiwaa are Attackers.

The girls reported to camp on Thursday for preparations towards the tournament.

A statement by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said, “The players reported to camp in Cape Coast on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 5:00 pm”.

The Black Princesses are making their seventh consecutive appearance at the biennial tournament.

Ghana is housed in Group E alongside Austria, New Zealand and Japan.

The U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup will kick start from August 31 to September 22, 2024

Basigi’s side qualified for the tournament in November after thumping Eswatini 6-1.
