GFA Solidarises With Christopher Antwi-Adjei Following Racial Attack

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has solidarised with Christopher Antwi-Adjei after he was subjected to racial abuse.

The attack came during Schalke 04’s German Cup tie against FC Lokomotive Leipzig.

In a statement, the FA condemned the attack as “evil”, adding it must not be countenanced in the world of sports.

“Racism is evil. It has no place in football. It has no place in society.”

The FA further commended the Ghana international on his “incredible” show of strength in the face of hate.

According to the Association, his reaction highlighted the essence of dignity and character over ignorance.

“As the Ghana Football Association, we stand firmly with him. We echo his courage, and we demand a game where every player is respected, no matter their colour, race, or origin. Football is about unity. Football is about love. Football is for all of us.”

It comes after the GFA threw its weight behind Antoine Semenyo over a similar incident at Anfield over the weekend.

“In the face of provocation, Antoine showed strength, grace, and unity. On the pitch, he scored twice; off it, he reminded us of what football truly represents — respect, solidarity, and love for the beautiful game.”
