GFA Penalisation: I’m Focused on Securing Back My Banks; Paa Kwesi Nduom to Media Organisations

The President of Elmina Sharks FC, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, has justified his decision to ignore media attempts to get his reaction to his recent penalization by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

After the Sharks’ game against Swedru All Blacks on February 16, 2025, the FA charged Nduom for allegedly trespassing the inner perimeters and the field to protest a penalty decision.

He was also accused of inciting violence against match officials after the game.

The politician was therefore charged with breaching Articles 34(1)(a), 34(1)(b) and 34(6)(d) of Regulations, 2019, and Section 12(4) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

After being found guilty, he received a fine of GH¢10,000 and a three-month suspended ban for violating the GFA Division One League Regulations.

Following unsuccessful attempts to interview him, the entrepreneur who had his financial institutions collapsed by the previous government indicated that his snubbing of the media was deliberate.

Urging the media to disregard the FA, he said his attention and energy are now directed towards securing his defunct banks and restoring employment to numerous people.

“Those of you in the media and elsewhere looking to interview me, sorry. Not now. All my work, and efforts now go to getting back my companies’ licenses and bringing back 3,000 of the jobs that were lost. As for GFA, don’t mind them.”
