GFA Disciplinary Committee Charges Kotoko Goalkeeper and Welfare Officer

The Ghana Football Association has officially charged Guinean international goalkeeper, Mohammed Camara and Welfare officer, Kwasi Frimpong Amos.

Camara and Amos have been charged with disciplinary breaches following a tense Matchday 25 clash against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale last Sunday.
The two persons are accused to have breached Article 12(1)(i) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019) during the aftermath of Asante Kotoko’s loss against Karela United.
Mohammed Camara has gained a second call-up to the Syli Nationals for the second time in his career after a stellar performance for Asante Kotoko in February, especially against Young Apostles and Vision FC at Wenchi and Kumasi, respectively.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko lost control in the game against Karela United after Henry Ansu was sent off by Prince Okoto Ntiamoah at the 41st minute of the first half. Malik Abubakar calmly gave the hosts the lead after the away team were down by a player.
The Guinea international goalkeeper, Mohammed Camara, did remarkably well by saving a late penalty to keep the scoreline close, but the post-match atmosphere turned hostile.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association alleges that the Welfare Officer, who was previously the club’s captain, Amos Frimpong, was accused of aggressively snatching the referee’s red card and interfering with official authority on the pitch.

The lanky goalkeeper, Mohammed Camara, was overly emotional after the final whistle at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, angrily confronting and assaulting the referee and other officials using insulting and abusive language.
The GFA has set a deadline of Wednesday, 11 March 2026, for the club and the accused to file their formal reactions to the charges.
