GFA Charges Aduana Stars Coach For Misconduct
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged the head coach of Aduana Stars Football Club, Paa Kwesi Fabin, for misconduct following his comment after their matchday 29 betPawa Premier League game against Kotoku Royals on Monday.
After a goalless first half at the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu, Aduana managed a lead through Isaac Mintah in the 71st minute but relegation-bound Kotoku Royals levelled it in the injury time through Prince Dogbe, denying the leaders all three points.
The head coach of the League’s leaders blamed the officiating referee for their failure to secure a home win during an interview after the match.
He is quoted as saying, “The result is not what I’m looking for, and I’m highly disappointed in the referee in the second half because every ball that we came to tackle was a foul against us.”
“Look at the number of free kicks he gave them (Kotoku Royals) in the second half. Is that how we want a worthy champion of the league?” he continued.
According to the FA, the remarks “undermined the fairness of the premier league and constituted an attack on the referee’s integrity, actions that have the potential to harm the reputation of the game”.
He has, therefore, been given up until today, May 4, 2023, to submit his response to the charges.
