Germany Coach Julian Nagelsmann Confirms Squad Rotation Ahead of Ghana Game

Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed he will rotate his squad for their second international friendly against Ghana with the aim of giving some players a break and handing opportunities to others.

The four-time world champions head into the encounter in excellent form after extending their winning streak to six matches with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Switzerland in Basel last Friday.

In his pre-match press conference, Nagelsmann explained that the game against Ghana provides the perfect opportunity to give minutes to players who have recently returned from injury or have been on the fringes of the squad.

“Tomorrow’s game is a bit different because we have to rotate a bit more in order to play some players who may have come from injury,” he said.

The former Leipzig and Bayern Munich coach added that the rotation will allow him to assess the depth of his squad as the team continues its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June.

Despite the planned changes, Julian Nagelsmann expects his side to maintain their high standards and deliver a competitive performance against the Black Stars. He stressed that every player in the squad must be ready to step up when called upon.

The encounter also carries historical significance, as it brings back memories of the last meeting between Ghana and Germany at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Both teams are using these friendlies as important build-up matches ahead of the World Cup. While Germany will look to continue their impressive run of results, Ghana will be determined to bounce back from their heavy 5-1 defeat to Austria and show improvement.

The highly anticipated clash is scheduled for 18:45 GMT (6:45pm) on Monday, March 30, at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
