Germany-Based Ghanaian Philanthropist Donates Over GH¢20k Worth of Items to Mampong Babies Home

A Germany-based Ghanaian philanthropist, Mr. Stephen Danso, has once again extended a helping hand to the Asante-Mampong Babies Home, donating assorted items valued at over GH¢20,000 on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The donation, made in collaboration with his friends and donors in Germany, forms part of their annual effort to support vulnerable children in Ghana.

The items presented included carbolic soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, rice, cooking oil, soft drinks, Nido milk, tin tomatoes, sugar, biscuits, and other essential supplies.

The donation was presented on Mr. Danso’s behalf by Wofa Yamoah Frimpong, a media personality with Opemsuo Radio.

Speaking to Opemsuo Radio’s Johnson Owusu Aduomi, Mr. Danso shared that the donation was motivated by a desire to provide comfort and care for children who have no biological family to rely on.

He also called on Ghanaians living abroad to remember their roots and support the less privileged back home.

According to him, giving to the needy is not only a noble act but also comes with blessings for the giver.

Receiving the items, the Superintendent of the Mampong Babies Home, Mrs. Hannah Annin, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Danso and his team for their generosity.

She noted that such acts of kindness are what keep the facility running smoothly.

Mrs. Annin also highlighted the home’s most pressing challenge—staff accommodation—and appealed to individuals and organizations to help them complete the ongoing housing project for the staff.
