Germany-based Ghanaian Enstooled as Santahene of Kokofu

Mr Onassis Konneh-Tandoh, a Germany-based Ghanaian, has been traditionally enstooled as Santahene, a substool of the Kokofu Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region and now assumes the stool name Nana Kwadwo Boadi Amponim II.

A ceremony on June 8, 2026, within the traditional area, marked the ascension of the 60-year-old chief, who returned home to a duty call after spending nearly three decades in Germany.

He swore allegiance to Barima Ofe Akwasi Okogyeasuo II, the Paramount Chief of Kokofu and the community.

Traditional authorities, family members, and residents of Kokofu witnessed the event, which ushers in a new chapter of leadership for the community.

As Santahene, Nana Kwadwo Boadi Amponim II is expected to play a key role in the administration, support development projects, and uphold the customs and traditions of the area.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Opemsuo Radio shortly after his enstoolment, Nana Amponim II acknowledged the divinity behind his selection and pledged his commitment to spurring development in Kokofu.

He stressed that preserving tradition would remain central to his leadership as he works with chiefs, government, and the community to advance projects that benefit residents.

“I will uphold our customs while bringing new ideas to move Kokofu forward,” the new chief told Opemsuo Radio.

Nana Amponim II is a family man and father of three.

The newly enstooled chief is a product of Atwereso Primary School, Awisa Presby SHS, and Agona Swedru SHS.

Before relocating to Germany almost 30 years ago, he was into diamond trading.
