GAF to Conduct Show of Force Exercise

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced plans to conduct a coordinated Show of Force Exercise, a routine training, in Accra this week.

The activity will be done in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Customs Excise Preventive Service and Immigration Service.

It is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, around 9 am, with the exercise starting at Independence Square through the major streets of the capital and ending at the same venue.

In a statement, it explained that the Show of Force Exercise forms part of the ongoing joint security preparations aimed at enhancing operational readiness, deterring criminal elements and assuring the public of the preparedness of Ghana’s security services to maintain peace and stability, especially as the festive season approaches.

It also aims to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and ensure a robust national security posture to counteract threats and maintain a safe environment for all.

According to the military, this may result in increased security presence and temporary traffic slowdowns in Greater Accra and its environs.

“The public is however, encouraged to go about their duties,” it added.
