GAF Removes Seidu Abagre From Bawku
The Ghana Armed Forces has removed Alhaji Seidu Abagre, the purportedly enskinned Bawku Naba, from the city.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, his removal took place on December 24, 2025, afternoon.
“This afternoon, personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) removed Alhaji Seidu Abagre from Bawku.”
It further reported that Abagre is safe in the care of the security agencies.
This follows recommendations by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, as part of the mediation process of the Bawku Conflict between the Mamprusis and Kusasis.
Otumfuo recommended that either Abagre be recalled to Nalerigu by the Nayiri and be reassigned a different traditional role or remain in Bawku as a private citizen.
It comes as the government accepted and endorsed the report.
