G/AR: Military Recruitment Exercise to Resume at 5 Locations on Thursday

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced plans to resume recruitment exercises in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
This time around, the screening exercise will take place at eight designated sub-centres at five locations, including El-Wak Stadium, Nicholson Park at Burma Camp, Air Force Base at Burma Camp, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and Easter Naval Command at Tema.
This, according to GAF, is to ensure a seamless process.
It disclosed that all qualified applicants in batches of 600 persons will each receive an SMS specifying their reporting dates, batches and designated centres.
“They are also encouraged to check on the recruitment portal for updates. Applicants are strongly advised to strictly adhere to these instructions. Any qualified applicant who does not receive a text message by Thursday, 20 November 2025, should call the helpline on Mobile Number 0256405104 or WhatsApp on 0256405154 for assistance.
“Applicants can also verify from the recruitment portal. Families and friends are cautioned not to accompany potential recruits to the screening centres to reduce congestion. Non-applicants will not be allowed entry to any of the centres.”
The process was suspended following the death of six potential and injury of many during a stampede at the El Wak Stadium.
Authorities who were in charge of the process at the time of the incident have since been replaced.
Commodore FA Nyarko, Colonel F Kusi-Darko and Colonel GB Eduah have taken over as Director General Human Resource, Director Manpower, and Director Information Technology, respectively.
In its statement, GAF expressed its regrets about the ‘unfortunate’ incident and extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved families.
It also wished the injured a speedy recovery, adding that all injured will continue to receive free medical services at 37 Military Hospital until they recover.
“Additionally, a special recruitment package will be offered to all injured after full recovery and also to the bereaved families.”
