Fuel Prices See Marginal Rise
Petroleum products have seen a marginal increase at the pumps in the first pricing window of June 2024.
A litre of petrol is selling at GHC14.60 from GHC14.55, according to the new price posted by Goil on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
A litre of diesel is also selling at GHC14.75 from GHc14.70.
There were fears the depreciation of the cedi in recent days would take a significant toll on the prices of petrol products within this pricing window but the impact looks minimal so far.
However, industry players are forecasting a rise in petroleum products in the coming days as the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has directed stakeholders to implement a GHC0.05 increment in the Unified Petroleum Price Products (UPPF) margin.
The implementation took place on June 1, 2024.
The increase in prices of petrol in April compelled drivers to increase transport fares by 20%.
