Forgo Personal Preferences and Let’s Push for 2028 Comeback- Nana B to NPP Supporters

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has urged party supporters to shed off their personal preferences following the election of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as their 2028 Flagbearer.
He underscored this as a crucial step towards the collective mission to win power in 2028.
“Personal preferences must give way to the collective mission to win power in 2028. Winning in 2028 will require everyone: party leaders, former aspirants, communicators, grassroots members, and volunteers. Communicators should echo the flagbearer’s message that every effort and idea matters and that unity of purpose is our greatest strength.”
According to him, a successful comeback to power is premised on healing and unity.
“The presidential primary has come to an end, and the NPP has made its choice. The responsibility before us now is to heal, unite, and move forward together,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
The NPP went to the polls over the weekend to elect the former vice President as the presidential candidate for 2028.
Dr Bawumia polled 110,643, representing 56.48 per cent of the total valid votes cast in the Presidential Primary held on January 31, 2026, flooring his opponents, including former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr Bryan Acheampong, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.
“H.E Bawumia’s election reflects the confidence delegates have placed in his leadership and vision for the party and the country. The NPP has emerged stronger and more united,” Nana B observed in his statement.
He further commended the unsuccessful aspirants’ approach to their defeat as true party spirit and leadership.
