Flamboyant Felix Annan wins 2020 SWAG HOme Base Player of The Year Award
Sparkling skipper of the Porcupine Warriors, Felix Annan has been named as the local footballer of the year at the 45th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards.
Felix Annan has undoubtedly exhibited some metaphysical showings in post for Asante Kotoko ever since he got the opportunity to mine the post for the Ghanaian giants. He has distinguished himself as one of the best safest pair of hands in the local league.
His tranquility in post, composure, reflexes, confidence and braveness upsurge him ahead of his competitors. As any guerrilla worth his salt knows, however, you can’t instigate a revolution without a good vanguard, or a solid initial base on which to build. Felix has the requisite foundation of a solid technique and has always been among the elite goalkeepers when it comes to a goalkeeper’s bread and butter: shot stopping and dominating his area.
The 25-year-old beat off competition from former AshantiGold SC striker Shafiu Mumuni and Joseph Esso of Dreams FC to clinch the prestigious accolade. Annan was consistent in the local scene with Asante Kotoko last year during the CAF Inter-club competitions. He played an instrumental role in the club’s qualification to the CAF Champions League after helping them to win the Normalization Committee tier-1 tournament.
