Flagging of National Service Personnel Due to Fake Documentation- NSA

The Ghana National Service Authority has explained that the flagging of some Service personnel follows a targeted technical exercise to identify anomalies with records within the payment framework.

Acknowledging concerns by the affected personnel, it noted that exercise is a routine measure in an effort to enhance its internal audit mechanisms.

“This system-driven flag was implemented specifically to combat the phenomenon of ‘ghost names’ on the payroll, ensuring that public funds are disbursed only to legitimate and verified serving personnel.” It said in a statement.

The flagged personnel are suspected of submitting fake documentation and, therefore, need further verification.

To resolve their status and proceed with payment processing, it directed any affected personnel yet to submit their documentation to submit their School Transcripts, Student ID, Proof of Fee Payments and Admission Letter.

It added, “The NSA wishes to reassure the public that all personnel with valid documentation will be cleared by the Close of the week and their payments will be processed quickly.”
