Fire Guts Bimbila Traditional Council Building

The Fire Service has reported a fire outbreak at the facility officially used by traditional authorities at Bimbila in the Northern Region.
The fire which affected the conference room and one other office on Tuesday is reported to have started around 3 pm.
“The Bimbilla Municipal Fire Station received a call at 1515 hours reporting an outbreak of fire involving the traditional council, and a crew was dispatched to the scene immediately.
“The crew arrived at the scene at 1521 hours and observed that the council’s offices were engulfed by fire,” it said in a statement issued on January 26.
Upon their arrival at the scene, the firefighters managed to confine the fine to the conference room and the office.
“The crew quickly got to work and brought the fire under control at 1654 hours and finally extinguished it at 1720 hours.”
Meanwhile, five other offices and their valuables were protected from the fire by the crew.
