Fire Fighters Avert Gas Explosion at Agape Top

An accident involving a Liquefied Petroleum Gas tanker at Agape Top in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday could have turned deadly if not for the swift intervention of firefighters.

The tanker, which was filled at the time of the accident began to leak.

It took the intervention of personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) from Anyaa and Circle Fire Stations to salvage the situation and forestall a potential explosion.

A statement from the Service narrated that the fighters resorted to cooling with foam to prevent a fire explosion or casualty.

The situation was subsequently brought under control by midday with no casualty recorded.
