Finance Minister off to U.S.A. for medical treatment

The Minister of Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta has been dispatched to the United States of America for medical attention.

According to a statement signed by the ministry, the Minister has been experiencing complications after he recovered from COVID-19 in December.

This decision comes after doctors advised he requires further intervention which is not available in the country, the statement says.

The Minister will be out of the country for two weeks which will hinder the appearance of Mr. Ofori Atta before the Appointment Committee of Parliament on Tuesday, 16th February, 2021 as scheduled.

The ministry, however says that the leadership of Parliament has been duly notified for a new date.
