Fiapre is Awua Dumase’s Son- Asantehene

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has reaffirmed that Fiapre, a Divisional Council in the Bono Region, is part of his Kingdom.
Recounting its origin, the Asantehene noted Fiapre was founded by a son of Awua Dumase who was sent to that part after Asante conquered it through war.
His Majesty said that that part of present-day Ghana was taken over by Asantes who founded towns like Akrodie, Fiapre, Odumase Number One and Sunyani.
“Awua Dumase’s son is Fiapre. Some of those who were sent there founded Akrodie, Fiapre, Odumase Number and even Sunyani.”
Spotlighting Fiapre, Otumfuo stated that his decision to delay his elevation to paramountcy until now was linked to tradition.
According to His Majesty, Awua Dumase must present Fiapre before him on the day he elevates him.
“When I’m done with Awua Dumase, I will let him bring his son Fiapre then I elevate him. I do everything in accordance with tradition. I allowed Fiapre to wait due to the absence of Awua Dumase. I wanted to deal with his father first before I proceeded to him.”
Currently, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II is the chief of Fiapre.
No Chief
Currently, Awua Dumase is without a chief. Processes to enstool one has been stalled by a dispute over the legitimacy of the Queen to elect a candidate to ascend the stool.
According to the plaintiff, the Queen is not a royal while the candidate she picked is also a non-royal.
