FDA Suspends Water Production By Samdoe Enterprise
The operation of water-producing company Samdoe Enterprise has been suspended by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
In a statement, the Authority said the company operated without a licence plus they operate under unhygienic conditions.
During a visit by officials of the FDA to the premises of the company located at Community 18, Spintex Road, the company was closed down.
“The premises of Samdoe Enterprise was closed down as the company has been engaged in the production and distribution of unregistered brands of water in an unlicensed, unhygienic manufacturing facility.”
It furthered, “the Authority’s Inspection Team uncovered major safety and quality issues including operation in an unsuitable wooden structure, presence of open drains with algae and fungi growth, dirty filters and no pest control regime.”
It further cautioned the public against consuming Perfect Ice Drinking Water, Aqua Link Drinking Water and Leaders Drinking Water- brands of water produced by the company.
Meanwhile, retailers and distributors have been directed to withdraw the brands from the market.
It also urged consumers to watch out for FDA registration numbers on products they purchase.
This comes after the Authority suspended the operation of Anointed Family Water, a water-producing company located at New Botianor over for the same reason.
