FDA: La Branch Of Marwako Remains Closed
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana has relayed that the La branch of Marwako Fast Food Limited will remain shut.
This is in spite of the suspension of the ban on the East Legon and Abelemkpe branches.
In an update on July 8, 2022, the FDA said “The Food and Drugs Authority notifies the public that it has lifted the suspension of catering activities at the East Legon and Abelemkpe branches of Marwako”.
It added, “Meanwhile the public should note that the La branch remains closed whilst the Spintex Road branch is going through the process to be formally issued with the requisite Food Hygiene Permit to start to start operations”.
The FDA also gave the assurance that it will closely monitor the activities of the food joint.
The FDA announced it had closed down the East Legon branch of Marwako Fast Food Limited on May 12, 2022, after a series of reports of food poisoning allegations flooded social media from persons who had eaten from that branch.
It subsequently proceeded to its two other branches-Abelenkpe and La branches- to shut them down as well
