Family head shot dead while at family shrine in Prampram; two injured
The head of the family of Kley Wetsotse Clan has been shot dead.
Nii Otu Sei Klo was killed Tuesday dawn while at the family shrine to perform some rituals.
He was in the company of two other elders of the Clan.
They sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Tema General Hospital, where they have been treated and discharged.
The incident is said to be connected with a chieftaincy dispute in the area with Tuesday’s victims said to be with the Annerway Royal Gate.
Police have been deployed to the scene while a few persons have been picked up.
The Commander of the Tema Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Barima Tweneboah-Sasraku II, led a police delegation to the family house to commiserate with the family.
He told journalists that the Command’s CID has already begun investigations into the fatal incident.
“So if there is any update, you let us know, then we will let you know. For now, let us be circumspect since a life is lost and we are dealing with a very vital issue – chieftaincy.
“Let’s be a bit more circumspect in the way we handle the information that we receive.”
