Faila Bestowed With Executive Chef Rank
The Chefs Association of Ghana has honoured Chef Abdul Razak Failatu with the highest rank in the profession.
She is now an Executive Chef.
The honour was conferred on her a few days ago when they made a stop at the venue of Faila’s cook-a-thon in Tamale to express their solidarity.
An executive chef has the top job in the kitchen and handles everything from managing staff to designing recipes and menus.
A citation presented by the delegation led by the President of the Chefs Association of Ghana Chef Isaac Sackey to her said the conferment is in recognition of her challenge, which is promoting Ghana’s hospitality industry.
The citation read, “The Chef’s Association of Ghana wishes to congratulate and recognize your official attempt to break the World Guinness Records Award for Cook-a-thon (the longest cooking marathon by an individual).”
“The entire members of the Association are solidly behind you. In recognition of your outstanding achievement in promoting Ghana’s hospitality industry through cook-a-thon, we confer on you the title: Executive Chief which is the highest in our profession.”
They also presented a chef jacket to her.
In reaction on her Facebook page, Chef Faila expressed her appreciation.
“A sincere thank you to the Chefs Association of Ghana for bestowing upon me the prestigious title of Executive Chef, the highest rank in the profession. I am deeply honoured and excited to continue my culinary journey with passion and dedication.”
Faila is attempting to break the 119 hours 57 minutes record by Alan Fisher, an Irish Chef based in Japan.
She is on her ninth day and has done 202 hours of cooking as of 10 am on January 9, 2024.
