Ex-British Royal Andrew Arrested over Epstein Files Revelation

The second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, has been arrested by the police following fresh revelations of recently released Epstein files.
A statement by the Thames police did not identify him as the suspect; however, the BBC reports that the suspect is the former Prince.
“We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance. Please also remember that this case is now active, so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court.”
According to the London-based news outlet, unmarked police cars were seen earlier this morning at Sandringham in Norfolk, where the former Prince has been living since leaving his home in Windsor.
The police said he is in custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office while they are carrying out searches at his addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk, it added.
“Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said: “Following a thorough assessment, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office.
“It is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offence.
“We understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time.”
The move comes days after a complaint by anti-monarchy group Republic, alleging that Andrew shared confidential material with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Emails recently released by the US government appear to show the former prince passing on reports of visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, as well as confidential details of investment opportunities.
Official guidance states that trade envoys have a duty to keep sensitive, commercial, or political information about their official visits confidential.
The former Duke of York served as trade envoy between 2001 and 2011. He was stripped of his title last year over his friendship with Epstein.
