ET Mensah’s Final Funeral Rites Slated For Friday

Enoch Teye Mensah affectionately called ET Mensah is expected to be laid to rest this Friday following his death three months ago.

He died in South Africa on October 2, 2023, while receiving treatment at a medical facility at the age of 77.

After receiving his mortal remains in the country on October 10, 2023, he was conveyed to the morgue after a brief ceremony.

In a flyer announcing his funeral rite, the family of the former government official said a burial service will be held for him at the forecourt of State House on Friday, January 5, 2024.

He will be laid in state at his residence in Ningo Prampram preceding his burial service on January 4.

Meanwhile, a thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2023.

ET Mensah attended the SNAPS College of Accountancy and completed it in 1968; he had his RSA III in 1970; and he became a fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants in 1986.

Following this, he worked at the University of Ghana, Legon as an Accounting Officer.

He was appointed Mayor of Accra by the Provisional National Defence Council during the Council’s military regime.

He later contested for the Parliamentary seat of Ningo Prampram on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 1996 and won.

He served as the Minister for Youth and Sports under the late former President Jerry Rawling and was appointed Minister for Employment and Social Welfare by the late former President John Evans Atta Mills.
