EOCO Recovers GHC600 million As of December 2025

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is said to have recovered over GHC600 million cedis from corruption cases it is handling.

The figure covers monies recovered as of December 2025.

Addressing parliament on February 27, 2026, President John Dramani Mahama said the Office had investigated 462 cases with 15 currently under prosecution.

“It has dismantled a transnational carjacking syndicate and has recovered 29 luxury vehicles that were stolen.”

Mahama made this submission while announcing that his government had strengthened collaboration among law enforcement, financial intelligence institutions and prosecutors in the fight against corruption.

“This effort has led to the initiation of criminal proceedings and asset forfeiture against some individuals and entities implicated in financial crimes against the state.”

Acknowledging the public call for enhanced fight against rot, he affirmed his government’s intolerance for corruption regardless of status or political affiliation.

“The A-G office will continue to use both conviction and non-conviction-based recovery mechanisms to ensure that stolen national properties are returned for national development.”

That said, he encouraged Ghanaians to exercise restraint for the law to take its full course.
