EOCO Arrests 3, Rescues 7 Victims of Human Trafficking at Mataheko-Afienya

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested three suspects for human trafficking at Mataheko-Afienya in the Greater Accra Region.
This was during an operation LIFELINE on Friday, November 14, 2025.
The Office also rescued seven victims between the ages of 17 and 30 years recruited to engage in prohibited cyber activities, it reported in a statement issued on Monday.
According to EOCO, both the victims and suspects are Nigerian nationals.
“The suspects, who initially lure their victims with promises of employment in Ghana, subsequently subject them to harsh and exploitative conditions and compel them to engage in online fraud schemes and prohibited cyber activities.”
It further encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to the Office and other law enforcement agencies through the hotlines, while urging landlords to conduct due diligence when renting out their properties, especially to foreign nationals.
“Individuals involved in such illegal activities are strongly warned to desist, as the Office remains fully committed to pursuing and apprehending offenders.”
