Energy Minister Goes After Suspects in Over 1000 Missing ECG Containers at Tema Port

The Minister for Energy, John Jinapor has tasked law enforcement agencies to go after suspects fingered in the 1,350 missing containers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (GFA) at the Tema port.

The missing ones were among 2,500 containers that were stuck at the Tema Harbour.

This was exposed in a 103-page report of a committee that investigated the stuck containers and other procurement-related matters.

The Minister while receiving the report on Tuesday, March 25 described the findings of the report as disturbing.

“The findings from the committee’s report are very disturbing, with over 1350 of the containers missing from the Tema port aside from serious procurement breaches. The law enforcement agencies will sure be tasked to hold culprits liable.”
