Eduwatch Assesses Enrolled Govt Policies and Interventions in Basic Education

Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch) says it has commenced its 2026 Annual Education Policy Monitoring activity.
This is the assessment of implementation progress and emerging challenges in major basic education policies and interventions announced and budgeted under the 2025 Education Budget.
The monitoring exercise will generate evidence to support improved education service delivery, strengthen policy accountability, advance equity, and enhance the effective use of public resources across Ghana’s education sector.
The activity will track the implementation of selected basic education policies and interventions in ten (10) sampled districts across rural and urban Ghana, including interventions financed through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), GETFund, and the Consolidated Fund.
With the support of Oxfam, the Education think tank has deployed Policy Monitors in selected areas, including Tatale Sanguli District, Bongo District, Nabdam District, Zabzugu District, Adentan Municipality, Ga East Municipality, Ga West Municipality, Ledzokuku Municipality, Nkwanta South Municipality and La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipality.
The monitors are engaging District Education Officials, school leadership, students, local governments, and community stakeholders.
“Following the district and school-level monitoring, Eduwatch will convene a national stakeholder engagement to discuss outcomes.”
It also urged all relevant stakeholders in the selected districts to provide the necessary cooperation and support to ensure the successful implementation of this important accountability initiative.
