ECG Corrects Fault In Prepaid Metres Following Tariff Review
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says it has identified and resolved technical challenges that arose with the implementation of the new tariffs for some prepaid metres on September 1, 2022.
The ECG said it noticed prepaid metres were not responding accurately to power purchased by customers.
“As indicated before implementation date, this teething challenge has to do with the date functionality drifts in these prepaid metres.”
Nevertheless, the ECG said customers whose prepaid metres run into negative balance after purchasing electricity will have ECG technicians visit their premises to reprogramme the metres.
It finally apologised to all affected customers.
