ECG Blames GRIDCo For Dumsor
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has pointed an accusing finger at the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) for the prolonged power disruption experienced in parts of the country lately.
Some customers of the ECG have had to endure more than twelve hours without light in recent days with the masses intensifying calls for a load shedding timetable.
In a notice, the ECG said the outages emanate from technical hitches from electricity transmission company GRIDCO.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform the general public, especially our cherished customers that the outage being experienced is as a result of a technical challenge emanating from GRIDCo.”
The affected areas include Koforidua township, Okorase, Osabene, Mile 50, Akim Tafo township, Bunso, Osiem, Hemang, Begoro, Asesewa, Kibi, Asiakwa, Apedwa, Suhum township, Teacher Mante, Amanase, Akote, Amanhyia, Nankesi Towns and nearby communities.
The ECG assured the affected customers that the power supply will be restored immediately after the technical challenge is rectified.
