EC Schedules Pre-Ayawaso East By-election Meeting with Political Parties

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has scheduled a meeting with representatives of each political party ahead of the Ayawaso East by-election.

A notice issued to the parties by the Deputy Chairman in charge of Corporate Services, Mr Bossman Eric Asare, said the meeting will take place on February 11, 2026.

This will be the first IPAC meeting for the year and will take place at 11 am at the Corporate Head Office, Electoral Commission.

The meeting will be used to discuss measures and related issues to the upcoming Ayawaso East By-Election, the notice indicated.

“Each Political Party is to be represented by two (2) persons only.”

The by-election is slated for March 3, 2026.

The meeting comes after the primary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) was marred by controversies of vote-buying and bribery.
