Ebo Noah Remanded, Court Orders Psychiatric Evaluation

Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, has been remanded into police custody for two weeks by the Adentan Circuit Court following his arrest for allegedly spreading false information.

The 33-year-old content creator faces charges of false communication, deliberately misleading the public, and publishing false news, which authorities say contravene Ghana’s criminal laws.

During the hearing, the court ordered that Ebo Noah undergo a psychiatric evaluation at Pantang Psychiatric Hospital. The proceedings have been adjourned to January 16, 2026, with the psychiatric report expected to inform the court’s next steps.

Police arrested Ebo Noah on December 31, 2025, at Weija-Gbawe. The arrest followed a series of online videos in which he claimed that a global flood would occur on December 25, 2025, a prophecy he later said had been postponed by divine intervention.

Ebo Noah gained attention in August 2025 when he urged followers to prepare for a three-year flood disaster and claimed to be constructing modern-day arks to save people.

Although he showed videos of boats and building materials, police confirmed that no such arks were actually built. He later admitted to authorities that his actions were primarily for online engagement.

The videos reportedly caused anxiety among his followers, prompting gatherings at his site and raising public safety concerns.

The Ghana Police Service stress that the action underscores the growing need to monitor online content to safeguard public order.
